Tidying Up with Marie Kondo

We’re sure you’ve heard of the KonMari method. If you haven’t, it is a system of simplifying and organizing your home by getting rid of physical items that do not bring joy into your life. It was created by Marie Kondo, a Japanese organizing consultant and tidying expert. When people are busy living life, caring for children, and furthering their careers sometimes their homes are left cluttered with things piling up over time. Kondo helps declutter not only their homes but also their lives. In this Netflix series, she helps her clients clear out the clutter by choosing joy in a series of motivational home makeovers.

Selling Sunset

Think House Hunters mixed with reality TV drama. If that’s up your alley, you’ll love this. The show revolves around beautiful high-end residential properties in LA marketed by the Oppenheim Group’s real estate brokerage firm. The Oppenheim Group is a dominant brokerage in the Hollywood Hills and Sunset Strip. Just imagine how stunning those homes are and who would be the ones buying these properties! It can also be cutthroat as the agents fight over clients and properties. Drama is inevitable as a new agent joins the team and the OGs want her to prove herself as worthy before accepting her into the Oppenheim Group.

House Hunters

Speaking of House Hunters, this show has been around since 1999 and still manages to pull you in every episode. This series brings potential buyers a better understanding of what to look for when buying a home and which homes just aren’t for them. Whether you’re watching the international version or U.S. version, one thing is always a common occurrence; someone has to make a compromise. Things get heated, but in the end, most hunters find the place that best suits them. Join these prospective home buyers on their journey from start to finish and maybe grab some popcorn for the action.

Love It or List It

When you live in a home for a decent amount of time, you may either love it even more for all of the memories it holds or start to resent it as it ages and seems to shrink as you grow. If you cherish these memories, you’re on team Hillary. She’s an interior designer and can make any home functional for you with a little bit of a budget and a lot of style. If you feel that you’ve outgrown your space, you’re definitely team David. He’s almost magic with the deals he can find on dream homes in the location you desire. In the end, you never know which avenue the homeowners will take, so it keeps you hanging and interested!

Fixer Upper

Good ole’ Chip and Joanna Gaines. You know we had to add this one because her designs are always gorgeous, their family is adorable, and Chip has world-class dad jokes. Even if you’ve seen every episode, it’s one of those you can watch over and over. They turn dusty, old, forgotten houses into sanctuaries for families. We’re also always amazed at those low, Waco, Texas home prices. 10/10 must binge.
